Uzbekistan’s Teshik Tash Cave

Cave at Teshik Tash in Uzbekistan

This is a site where in 1938 the remains of an 8-10 year old Neanderthal child were discovered. The finding consists mainly of the skull which was found in a shallow pit with five pairs of Siberian ibex horns. This is astounding because it shows that those who buried her believed in some sort of afterlife.
