Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ from one of their earliest shows

Here is a full live performance of Nirvana at a club in Connecticut on September 26th, 1991, just two days after Nevermind was released.

The song is “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” a track that eventually became the anthem of a generation.

Initially DGC (Geffen) released only 50,000 copies, thinking that the album would only have moderate success.

Nevermind however went on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide. Talk about underestimating expectations.
