Jukebox Jams, Episode #12: Ryan Adams, Cold War Kids, Father John Misty & Others (Starbucks/Chipotle Mix)

Coffee shop and Chipotle songs that just grow on you. For better or for worse, I spend a reasonable amount of time in both Starbucks and Chipotle. Due to this, I’m starting to dig some of the songs on their playlist.

Ryan Adams – “Do You Still Love Me”

From his 16th album Prisoner comes this power ballad. And you know, it can’t be a Ryan Adams without a church organ in the background and melodic arpeggios.

Cold War Kids – “Hang Me Up to Dry”

This is the second single off the band’s debut album Robbers & Cowards. The track reached to #46 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Songs of 2006 list.

Declan McKenna – “Brazil”

This is a great song about the dismal subject of FIFA, corruption and the World Cup. I just think it’s amazing that Declan wrote and was already performing this song at the age of 15. This kid is great and I really hope he becomes a star.

Father John Misty – “Real Love Baby”

This is my favorite of song of the bunch. It’s sounds like a song I’d probably play for my bird on a summer afternoon.
