Congratulations! You’re in Iranian West Azerbaijan. You’ll probably only come to the little village of Bazargan if you’re crossing into (or out of) Iran via Turkey. In the north-westernmost corner of Iran, Bazargan is kind of a frontier town with some cheap hotels, currency dealers, some shops and of course, a border crossing/immigration post. On a clear day you can see Mr. Ararat, the supposed resting place of Noah’s ark (it’s in Turkey, not Iran). Other than that, there’s not much to see.

The closest Iranian town of any significance is Maku.
