Also known as Kohan Dej, Arg-e Tabas, or Tabas Fortress is an old citadel in town of Tabas, in southern Khorasan. The citadel dates back at least 1,000 years and probably much earlier. Some historians believe that the foundations extend all the way back to the Parthian period.
Much of the original fortress has been destroyed due to earthquakes and the wear of time. However, one can still see the perimeter of what must have been a decent-sized outpost.
