I don’t know from which old book this is from but these drawings of ancient Persian Achaemenian era soldiers are really awesome. If you’ve seen the old bas-reliefs at Persepolis, you’ll notice that they’re devoid of any color. That’s because centuries of neglect and erosion wore off the pain and just left the stone surface. These drawings however give us a glimpse into what ancient Persian, Median and other warriors of the ancient world may have looked like.
